Requirements

Submitting to DevPost

  • Submissions are due at 9:30AM EST on Sunday via Devpost

  • We are requiring a submission code to be eligible for judging

    • The password will be shared in the event Slack

  • Please make sure to include the following (this information is for the judges who you don’t get to talk to, so make sure you add enough detail!):

    • The Slack handles for your team members so we can contact you

    • A link to where your project is hosted or to the codebase

    • A description of your project (including any technical details)

    • The process you went through during the weekend (ex. any challenges)

    • What you learned this weekend

    • Any future goals or next steps for the project

HackBeanpot encourages you to learn new skills and explore as much as possible! If you want to try your hand at learning a new technology, we challenge you to create the most innovative or technically challenging project you can! This challenge is meant for a hack that is a difficult feat from a technical standpoint.

  • Process
    Did the team learn or try something new? How did they handle problems they encountered or pivot their ideas throughout the weekend?
  • Positive Spirit
    Does the project have societal impact or solve a problem? Does it make you smile :)?
  • User Experience
    Is the design polished and intuitive? Is it visually appealing and easy to use? Is the project accessibly designed for all people who may use it?
  • Innovation
    Is the project creative? How different is the project from things that we’ve seen before?
  • Technical Difficulty
    Do they use challenging technologies? How challenging are the technical problems they solve in their project (and do they do so cleanly/efficiently)?
  • Functionality
    How functional are all the features? How much of it is hard-coded or “hacky”?
